Tell a Story

If you would like to share a story at Telling Favorites, here are few guidelines to keep in mind:
– Stories should ultimately be 7-10 minutes in length. Please respect the 10-minute upper bound. If you are a little under seven minutes, no problem.
– Please try to avoid a structure that is of the form, “My favorite thing is X and here are the reasons why.” Instead, use your favorite thing as a jumping off point and weave it into an actual story that has a beginning, middle, and end.
– Don’t get too hung up on the “favorite” part. The most important thing is the story — we are not going to grill you on whether it’s actually about your very favorite thing.
– No hate speech or negative “-isms” such as racism and sexism. Positive “-isms” such as altruism, optimism, and bilingualism are completely welcome. Use your judgment on those “-isms” that aren’t so easily classified, like skepticism, surrealism, and ventriloquism.
